BEYAZLATMA ( BLEACHING)

We call TEETH WHITENING – BLEACHING the processes aiming to eliminate the coloration formation due to various reasons on teeth and teeth with a color darker than usual due to he structure of enamel and dentin.

Teeth whitening process can insure a whitening up to 9-10 tones (3m scale) in a harmless way. Materials used during teeth whitening is for professional use, and the whitening shall be absolutely prepared after dentist consultation using customized medicine. Teeth whitening applied without the control of the dentist can damage tooth structures.

Stains formed on teeth due to accumulated food residues, tea – coffee-smoking and brushing habits are first cleaned from the tartar and plaque then teeth are polished. After these procedures, the teeth are ready for whitening

INLAY ONLAY FILLING

Porcelain inlay-onlay are fillings materials prepared in laboratories and presenting superior aesthetics and durability properties.

We can apply porcelain inlay-onlay instead of composite or amalgam fillings materials on teeth that require a significant filling treatments thank to their aesthetics and durability features. Inlays are rather preferred given the fact they require a less material loss compared to porcelain crowns in the manufacturing phase. Only the caries are cleaned and the tooth is measured. The porcelain inlay fillings prepared in the laboratory are then adhered to the teeth with special adhesive substances (adhesive systems).

Especially for teeth witnessing a large material loss, the first line treatment consists on applying canal treatment and simple surgical corrections on gums if necessary (gingivoplasty – gingival manicure) is then an onlay (laboratory prepared porcelain) is applied. In this way, the risk of fracture of the tooth or the fillings is very low.

Inlays are similar to the common fillings. It is applied in cases where the loss of tissue on the chewing surface of the tooth is not too large and the protruding parts of the tooth called “cusp” are not damaged by caries or fractures.

Onlays are used in mouths where the visible teeth have a larger tissue loss or at least one or more protruding parts are damaged.

– COMPOSITE (LASER) (WHITE) FILLINGS

Composite fillings are also known as white fillings due to their tooth-white color. Although they were used for the first time only on front teeth, with reinforcement of their durability in terms of mastication load and reducement of erosion amount over time, they become used in rear molar teeth as well.

 Advantages of Composite Fillers

Their biggest advantage of composite fillers are their aesthetic properties. They can be polished immediately after construction. It can be used not only for restoration of tooth decays but also for cosmetic procedures by changing the color and shape of teeth.

Disadvantages of Composite Fillers

Composite fillings are applied layer per layer and hardened with a special light. Therefore, the application takes longer and is more difficult depending on the amalgam. Its price is more expensive than amalgam. Although composite fillings have recently been made quite durable, they are not as durable as amalgam. Color changes may occur over a long period of time.

Points to Take Into Account

• Being careful when biting on large fillings, extends the life of the fillers. composite fillings may change color over time depending on food and beverages even if they are well polished.

• As with amalgam, there is no restriction such as not eating 2 hours following the construction of the filling.

• For teeth that have been restored due to wear, a very hard toothbrush should not be used and the brushing method should be observed.

ESTHETIC GINGIVAL CORRECTIONS

The amount of gingiva that appears when we laugh will also affect the size of our teeth. Asymmetric gingival margins give the impression that our teeth are irregular and our smile is curved. If our gingiva is pulled, our teeth will appear longer than they are. Inflammation (a type of gingival edema) due to swollen and red gingiva, will pull attracts more attention on gingiva. The swollen and thickened gingival edge, may leads to the formation of shadow on 1/3 of the teeth. Bacterial accumulation is easier due to thickened gingiva because of edema. Bacterial accumulation will result in the withdrawal of the gingival section between the two teeth (hereinafter referred to as papillae) and forming dark and sometimes black sections between the two teeth.

A second point concerning gingival aesthetics is; due to tooth extraction, it is related to a  jaw bone collapse and resulting asymmetric gingival aspect. This situation is often disturbing in the area of the front teeth. Although the porcelain teeth are made of exceptionally beautiful porcelain, the area where the prepared porcelain will be placed is surrounded by the gingival tissue. If there is no gingival tissue and healthy gum tissue, it is not possible to talk about aesthetics in prepared porcelain. If there is a loss of papillae due to gingival recession or lack of teeth, it should be replaced first. It is possible to regain lost tissues with some surgical and prosthetic methods. The procedures to regulate the gingival tissue surrounding our teeth and to create an image in harmony with our teeth are called cosmetic gingiva corrections. Usually before prosthesis construction; Infrastructures of gums, bones and connective tissue are considered as long and exhausting sessions by patients, but considering the results obtained, they are extremely necessary, and satisfactory for both patients and physicians.

Gum Manicure- Gingivoplasty: In case of Gummy smile in which gingiva is more visible in a smile, it is possible to pull the gingiva towards the smile line with a small intervention that takes 1 hour.

Gingiva Graft : in the parts of mouths that present gingival recession, it is possible to  outline the gingiva to teeth levels by adding tissues to give them an extended look.

Artificial Gingiva: The black holes formed as a result of gingiva recession between teeth can be concealed using special material.
