In cases where the teeth or their surrounding tissues are  partially or completely lost due to various reasons, materials called prosthesis are prepared  to be used for repair or replacement purpose to teeth.

PROSTHESIS TYPES

1.  FIXED PROSTHESES (BONDING PROSTHESIS SIMILAR TO CROWN-BRIDGE)

2. REMOVABLE PROSTHESES (TOTAL AND PARTIAL PROSTHESES)

3. IMPLANT SUPPORTED TOP PROSTHESES (FIXED OR REMOVABLE)

4. FLEXIBLE REMOVABLE PROSTHESES

1 . FIXED PROSTHESIS

It designates prosthesis such as crown-bridge that the patient cannot remove by himself/herself.

 Crowns: It is a process that consists on downsizing teeths witnessing an excessive material loss due to caries, breakage or any other reason and averlaying  them with other materials;

Bridge:  It is the process applied in the absence of one or more teeth, consisting of minimizing the adjacent teeth and filling in the interstitial spaces by supporting them with the special coatings.

When tooth loss occurs for any reason, the adjacent teeth begin to move towards this space. As a result, gingival problems in the adjacent teeth, bone loss due to overturning, impaired aesthetics and changes in masticatory forces occur. If this space is not restored by implant or bridge for a long time, these adjacent teeth may also be lost.

Metal-supported crowns and bridges

In terms of ınfrastructure,  as standard metal “quotni-co” or precious metal “quotau” alloys can be used. Gold is one of the most valuable materials in dentistry,  being  one of the most compatible  materials with teeth and gums. Hence,  more healthy and aesthetic results are obtained with applications using precious metals .

Crowns and bridges Without Metal Support

They are made of reinforced porcelain. Although the fact many things affect the appearance of crowns, the most important one is their reaction to light. Natural teeth have light transmitting properties. As a result, depth and vitality appear in the tooth. The porcelain crowns without metal support (full porcelain) have more depth and vividness due to their light transmitting properties, thus they provide the closest results to natural teeth.

2.  REMOVABLE PROSTHESES

Total Prostheses:

It is applied to fully edentulous mouths.

 Partial Prostheses:

Classic Partial Prostheses :  applied to partially edentulous mouths. The nails and the hooks fixed on teeth serve as holders.

Partial Prostheses with Sensitive Holder: Applied to partially edentulous mouths . They are aesthetic prostheses that do not have any visible external apparatus such as hooks.

Bilateral Sensitive Partial Prosthesis

Unilateral Sensitive Partial Prosthesis

Unilateral Sensitive Partial prostheses provide a wide range of options to the patients. they are designed in a way to provide satisfaction to the patient and meet his/her expectations.

3. IMPLANT SUPPORTED TOP PROSTHESES  (FIXED OR REMOVABLE)

Fixed:  Crowns and bridges  made with support of implant.

Removable: Prosthesis similar to total one, made with support of implants, which is prefered for months in which the bone support is not sufficient.

4.  FLEXIBLE REMOVABLE PROSTHESES

Flexible partial prostheses  are dentures which are widely used in the world but not recognized in our country. These stretchable prostheses fit very well into the recesses and protrusions of the mouth. Especially, diabetic patients  complaining of late wound healing, can easily choose these prostheses.

The fact that there is no need to perform any procedure on the natural teeth of the patients during the construction of the stretchable removable prostheses provides benefits to our patients in terms of both cost and time. Our patients are supplied with prostheses in a very short time.

One of the biggest advantages of these prostheses is that no metal is required. They are aesthetic prostheses without visible metal hooks. The most important feature of the material used in the manufacturing of flexible removable prostheses is that its anti-allergic property.
